Privacy Policy for Urban Explorer
Last updated: 15 July 2026
The short version
Urban Explorer does not collect anything about you. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising. Everything you do in the app stays on your phone. I have no server, and I never see how you use the app.
Who is responsible
Urban Explorer is made by Yos Development Labs, which is the trading name of:
Mgr. Kaan Yöş
Uralská 689/7, Bubeneč
160 00 Praha 6, Czech Republic
IČO: 24393533

What the app collects
Nothing. To be specific, Urban Explorer does not:
- ask you to create an account or sign in;
- collect your name, email address, or any other personal detail;
- use analytics or measure how you use the app;
- use crash reporting;
- show advertising, or include any advertising SDK;
- access your location;
- read your contacts, photos, files, or anything else on your phone.
The app asks for no location access and no runtime permissions at all.
What stays on your phone
The app does store a few things, but only on your own device, and only so it works the way you left it:
- the priorities you set, so your rankings match what matters to you;
- any areas you save to your shortlist;
- your language and display choices.
None of this is sent anywhere. It is not backed up to me, because there is no "me" to back it up to. If you uninstall the app, it is gone.
The city data the app ranks is bundled inside the app itself, so browsing and comparing areas does not involve any network request at all.
Sharing a report
When you tap share on a decision report, the app hands the report to Android's standard share sheet, and you choose where it goes. That only ever happens when you tap share. Once you have picked an app to share into, whatever you chose is governed by that app's own privacy policy, not this one.
Rating the app
If you tell the app whether it helped you decide, it offers to open the Google Play listing so you can leave a rating. That opens Google Play, and nothing is sent to me either way. Whether you leave a rating, and what it says, is entirely up to you.
Supporting the developer
The app is free, and every feature in it is free. If you choose to support the work through the "Support the Developer" item in Settings, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play. I never see your card details, your address, or your payment information. Google's handling of that payment is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Supporting is optional and unlocks a supporter badge in the application. Oh, it also makes me happy as a developer :)
Children
Urban Explorer is a tool for adults deciding where to live. It is not directed at children, it is not designed for them, and it collects nothing from anyone regardless of age.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it deleted, object to it being processed, take it elsewhere, and complain to a supervisory authority.
In practice these rights have very little to act on here, and that is the point: I hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for me to show you, correct, or delete. Anything the app stores is already on your own phone, in your hands, and uninstalling the app removes it.
If you want to raise anything at all, write to kaan@yosdevelopmentlabs.com and I will answer personally.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, I will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, I will say so in the app's release notes rather than quietly editing the page.
Contact
Questions about any of this go to kaan@yosdevelopmentlabs.com. It reaches one person, and that person is me.
